Organ Donor Card

The Organ Donor Card is a legal document that formally expresses your consent to donate your organs after death, much like a will. It ensures your wishes are honored and provides clarity to medical professionals and family members.

By signing the Donor Card, you make a noble pledge to donate your organs posthumously, offering the gift of life to those in need.

What to Do After Signing?

  • Carry the card always – Keep it in your wallet, purse, or with your identification documents for easy access.
  • Discuss your decision – Inform your family and loved ones about your choice to avoid any hesitation during critical moments.
  • Emergency contact details – The card also functions as an emergency contact card, listing your designated person for medical decisions.
  • Register with national databases (if applicable) – Some countries maintain organ donor registries for additional verification.

Key Facts About the Organ Donor Card

  • Organ donation occurs only after confirmed brain death or circulatory death, not before.
  • No financial compensation is involved – organ donation is strictly voluntary and altruistic.
  • The Donor Card is not for living donations (e.g., kidney or liver lobe donations).
  • You retain the right to revoke your pledge at any time by destroying the card and updating your records.
  • Medical professionals will always prioritize saving your life – donation is considered only after all efforts fail.

Printing Your Donor Card

After completing the registration form, you will receive a printable version of your Donor Card. You may print it immediately or access it later via a secure link sent to your email. Laminate the card for durability.
