By participating in our GI Cancer Screening Medical Camps, you agree to these comprehensive terms and conditions aimed at ensuring safety, transparency, and dignity for all.

About Our Initiative

Team Vimalakar Foundation is a registered non-profit organization committed to bridging healthcare gaps in rural and underserved areas. Through our Kunjara Yatra initiative, we organize bi-monthly mobile medical camps focused on early detection of GI cancers, improving health awareness, and building a preventive care mindset.

Our camps integrate modern diagnostic tools, experienced healthcare professionals, and data-driven processes to offer free, high-impact services across communities in need.

1. General Terms

Acceptance of Terms

By using our services or volunteering, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these terms and any guidelines shared during camp orientation or communicated in person or via email/SMS/WhatsApp.

Service Description

We offer free-of-cost GI cancer screening services, which include:

  • Mobile medical caravans equipped with diagnostic setups
  • Interdisciplinary healthcare teams: doctors, nurses, technicians, counselors, and data entry staff
  • Structured 10-stage patient journey for streamlined service delivery
  • Awareness sessions on cancer prevention, hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle

2. Participation Terms

For Patients

  • All services are 100% free; no payments are required or accepted.
  • Patients must follow instructions, maintain discipline, and complete each stage of the screening to receive a full report.
  • Medical results are preliminary and advisory in nature. They are not substitutes for specialist consultation or further diagnostic tests.
  • Patients are responsible for following up with healthcare providers post-camp.

For Volunteers/Staff

  • Commitment: Timely attendance and full-shift availability is expected unless prior exemption is granted.
  • Training: Completion of mandatory online and in-person orientation is required before active duty.
  • Conduct: Professional, respectful, and ethical behavior is mandatory at all times on-site and online.
  • Voluntary Status: Unless officially contracted, all participants are unpaid volunteers and serve with informed consent.

3. Data Protection & Privacy

Collection

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Demographics and basic health history of patients
  • Screening results and recommendations
  • Volunteer profile data including phone number and area of contribution
  • Anonymized health statistics for medical research and policy formulation

Protection

All data is stored on secure, encrypted systems with controlled access policies. Our practices follow:

  • HIPAA (U.S. Healthcare Privacy Law)
  • GDPR (European Union Privacy Regulation)
  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India)

No personal data is sold, leased, or transferred for marketing purposes. All data access is role-based and logged.

Confidentiality

Participants agree to uphold strict confidentiality obligations:

  • Not sharing identifiable patient information on social media or outside the organization
  • Only using data for healthcare operations, training, or research approved by the Foundation
  • Reporting suspected data mishandling incidents immediately to the data protection officer

4. Intellectual Property

The following are the proprietary assets of Team Vimalakar Foundation:

Unauthorized use, duplication, or distribution of these materials is strictly prohibited and may invite legal action.

5. Liability & Disclaimers

Medical Disclaimer

The services rendered are screening-level only and do not replace professional medical consultations. No guarantee of diagnosis, treatment, or cure is implied.

Limitation of Liability

The Foundation shall not be held responsible for:

  • Any harm resulting from inaccurate self-reported data
  • Delays or errors due to equipment malfunctions or third-party services
  • Injuries, loss, or damage outside Foundation premises or beyond volunteer duty scope

Indemnification

All participants (patients and volunteers) agree to indemnify the Foundation against legal consequences resulting from:

  • Unlawful actions or misrepresentations
  • Breach of patient confidentiality
  • Negligent or unauthorized use of Foundation resources

6. Conduct & Termination

Expected Conduct

  • Zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment
  • Respect toward cultural, linguistic, and gender sensitivities
  • Adherence to camp discipline, safety instructions, and chain of command

Termination Rights

The Foundation reserves the right to remove any participant from service with immediate effect for:

  • Violation of guidelines, rules, or medical protocols
  • Endangering patient or team safety
  • Unethical or inappropriate behavior in-person or online

7. Social Media Policy

Sharing Guidelines

  • Patient images/videos may only be taken or shared after obtaining written consent
  • Volunteers should clarify that their views/posts are personal and not official representations
  • All posts must reflect dignity, truthfulness, and responsibility in public health narratives

Representation

No participant may claim to officially represent the Foundation in public, media, or digital forums without prior written approval.

8. Miscellaneous

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed and interpreted under Indian law. Jurisdiction for all legal disputes lies with courts in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Participants are encouraged to review them periodically. Continued participation implies acceptance of any updates.
